procedure and fees
Daune Sheri uses a process of as many as thirty to forty veiled washes of watercolor on clay board to create her portrait paintings. By using small brushes, she works to achieve beautiful fluid glazes, delicate translucency and intricate detail.
Her portraits are painted with Daniel Smith Watercolors on Ampersand Aquabord, a museum series board coated with kaolin or porcelain clay. Once the painting is complete, she seals the artwork with UV archival varnish so the painting is ready to hang, no need for mat, glass or frame.
She paints original and custom portraits and figurative art. When you commission Daune to paint a custom portrait, you will work directly with the artist to be very certain your portrait meets your expectations.
The following prices are based on clay board size, single figure portraits created against simple tonal backgrounds.

In initiating the submission for a custom painting, one of the most important aspects of this process is choosing your photograph(s). As these are the only references the artist has to work from, photographs should be chosen carefully, with the understanding the detail and quality of the artwork is largely dependent on the quality of the photographs sent. Photographs must be free of copyright or accompanied by a signed release form from the photographer.
Following approval of the photographs(s), payment is accepted securely through PayPal via email invoicing. Clients do not need a PayPal account to make payment.
Before work is commenced, please understand and agree to the Artist's Terms and Conditions.
Commissions are completed in the order they are received. Painting your portrait along with required drying time between coats of varnish, takes approximately four to six weeks, however this may vary as it is dependent upon the extent of detail of your specific piece and how many orders are in process at the time. Typically your portrait will be shipped within six to eight weeks of the order.
Upon completion of the portrait, an image thumbnail will be emailed to you for viewing.
All artwork is validated with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA).
